The Strategic Portfolio Director supports Premera's leadership team in the translation of business strategy through the company's formal planning process, as well as other interactions with all levels of management. Applicants must understand the organization's goals and how a project portfoliosupports those goals. This position works directly with leaders to assess the benefits and risks across the project portfolio to recommend and execute on investments in programs and projects. This role is responsible for the delivery velocity from strategy to execution. What you'll do Provide corporate leadership for large-scale programs/projects through integration of efforts across the various project management offices, shared services groups and business segments including their respective teams. Develop and manage highly or most complex portfolio of programs/projects within a multiple year roadmap. Manage enterprise-level programs/projects, analyze complex data, and clearly articulate goals, status, issues and solutions to senior management while facilitating speed of delivery. Ensure that the overall program/project portfolio structure and processes enable the teams to successfully complete their work and that deliverables achieve the strategic area goals. Consult and work with senior management and business leaders to identify key business initiatives and programs outlined in strategic alternatives and recommend portfolio or program approach from business case through implementation and execution. Collaborate with other leaders to synthesize or integrate work plans and resources. Manage conflicting priorities with other project portfolios and distributed team members. Monitor process, progress and results to ensure assigned programs/projects deliver value to Premera through tangible benefits and measurable outcomes, both financial and non-financial. Oversee adoption planning as part the implementation phase and manages transition of work and responsibilities to appropriate teams as part of program/project close-out phase. Develop and communicate expectations with success measures for teams and partners. Communicate across channels with all audiences within the organization including senior leaders and produce materials for the Board of Directors. Manage vendor selection, implementation, and performance processes for system solutions, external partner and/or staff augmentation efforts. Teach and mentors others in the required discipline and competencies of program/project management while applying business acumen to deliver high-valued results.
